Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my OBC-NCL certificate is not ready when JoSAA opens?

You can initially register for JoSAA without it, but you MUST upload it before the document verification deadline. If you miss the upload, you lose your reserved-category benefit and may lose your seat.

Can I upload documents in JoSAA after seat allotment?

Yes. The document upload window opens after each round's allotment. You must upload and pay the acceptance fee within the given window (typically 24–48 hours) to hold your seat.

Is physical document verification required at the institute?

Yes, physical document verification is mandatory when you report to the allotted institute. Online upload does not replace the physical verification at admission.

What is the format for the JoSAA photograph?

Passport-size photograph, recent (taken within 6 months), white background, JPG format, file size less than 100 KB, face visible clearly. The same photo used in JEE Main application is usually acceptable.
